Correct. Power Nap is only supported on MacBook Pro with Retina Display,
and recent MacBook Air models.

Evidence suggests that Apple only supports this feature on models with
an Apple-supplied SSD in an mSATA-like slot, and a built-in battery.

It won't work on a non-retina MacBook Pro even if you installed an SSD
in place of the hard drive.
