Yahoo "classic" (free) POP mail service?

When I signed up with Yahoo (years ago) they did not allow POP access to the free mail service. You had to purchase the "Plus" (or was it "Plus!"?) service at a premium.
Does the free service still disallowed POP access? I thought Yahoo had changed their policy and allowed POP...

ICC v4 and the MBP Retina Display

I downloaded a ICC v4 test image and it shows up fine in Finder, Elements and Pixelmator, but not in Safari or Preview. Clearly the computer is v4 compliant but some of the apps aren't.
I intend to calibrate the display for v4 and I don't want to create problems for some of my apps. Is that likely to happen and what do I do... more »

I have over a month or so, received three emails from Facebook with the subject "Interesting Pages on Facebook" with the line "Like the Pages you are interested in to get their updates in your news feed." with a list of six political subject areas, all of a political persuasion very much opposite to my own. problems retrieving mail again

I thought the problem went away - it did, then came back - come and gone in fact, a couple of times.
imac, running OS 10.6.8 and stock mail program, no adjustments or fiddling on my part. I just came from my webmail, and I know there are two messages there. Just tried to fetch them with mac mail, and bupkis.... more »

I love this stuff. This one purports to come from the "Fedex Courier Serivce," and advises me that a package is waiting for me in Memphis, and that it contains a cheque for 4.5 million dollahs and I only have to send 80 dollahs so some guy in Nigeria to have it cleared.

mac mail not retrieving mail

me, again, this time with a mail issue. Running OS 10.6.8 and mail is version 4.6, on an imac. When I look for new mail, what is happening is nothing. The progress window show retrieving 29 items or 372 items or any other peculiar number - and then nothing shows up. I go to web mail and I see that I have 29... more »

removing duplicate and triplicate emails

Morning.
I have a local mailbox in Mail.app on OS X 10.8.3 with thousands of
duplicate and triplicate emails. This mailbox includes appr. 19'000
emails, of which appr. two thirds are duplicates, driplicates,
quadruplicates, ..., and the related attachment files as well.
The mailbox is about 17 GB of data volume.... more »

network printer query

I'm running OS 10.6.8 on a 3.06mhz Intel Core 2 Duo imac. I have a KonicaMinolta color laser printer connected with ethernet cable to a little in-house network via the phone company dsl modem. Trash on Thumbdrives -- perhaps obvious but I just discovered it

I use a thumbdrive for input to an electronic picture frame. My wife noticed one image that shouldn't be there kept appearing. We searched the drive and couldn't find it until I looked in .Trash. That's where it was.
