According to various sites, the Mac has either PC2700 or PC3300
memory. Apple's site *says* PC2700, but if you look at one in
a store, it will say PC3300. Apparently it has been shipping
with a PC3300 module installed (at least in some cases).

So, I am wondering if the mini takes advantage of the faster RAM
if it is present, or if Apple just has a warehouse full of 3300
modules of 256MB that they are trying to get rid of?

Obviously, I want to upgrade the memory in it; shipping a single
stick computer with 256MB to run OS X on is analogous to a V12
sports car with a 2 gallon gas tank.

Specifically, I'd like to know if there is any reason to purchase
a module faster than PC2700, and if it will support 2GB modules.

I'd like to hear from anyone that has experimented with this.

Good one. That should be your sig.

I'm also interested in this, and know others who are too. I'd say its only a
matter of time before large capacity cards become available.

Wonder if the machine can be bought with no memory installed?

That would make more sense than shipping it with insufficient memory !

I imagine we're all supposed to sell off the 256meg bars on eBay ???

I suspect that the Mac Mini requires PC2700 or better, but that it won't
take advantage of anything faster. As for supporting 2GB modules,
somebody's already tried
(http://www.macworld.com/weblogs/editors/2005/03/maxmini/index.php) and
failed.
