I would like to set the crt off, and use the external vga (to tft).

I know the crt can be disconnected, but the generator (that makes 20000Volt
to make the crt work)??

Can one disconnect the generator from the mains, so that only
the motherboard works??

Thanks,
Marc

It's possible to modify a PC power supply to power a iMac logic board, but
you can't disconnect the tube without a 25 kV arc . . .

I don't think you can remove the flyback transformer either, because the
iMac's power/analog board has HV fault sensing.

You can use a flat panel iMac logic board without the worry of high voltage;
you can run an iMac Bondi (233-222 Mhz) without a CRT or HV board, but that
ain't what you got!
