Capturing w/Videovision PCI Powermac 9600 Newertech G4 400

Wanted to capture some analog footage so I got my 9600/G4 400 out of
storage and started on Mac 9.2.1
The radius codec I used to capture (VVPCI 1.3) played back Green and
pink artifacts. If I captured to another codec it was fine.
I then downgraded to 9.04 with the same issue and went back as far as
8.0
I even tried VVPCI 1.0
My Videovision card is in the bottom slot of the 9600.

Questions:
Has anyone else had this problem?
Should I put the card in another slot?
Should I try to find a 9600/350 daughtercard processor?
Should I try to reseat the Radius card?
Is there a VVPCI 1.2 ?
Since this video footage is eventually going to DVD, should I just
capture to Mpeg 2 ?
I don't have the funds for a Canopus ADVC55 or 110 which would capture
just fine.
Any help would be welcome
