Everything works fine but I have this big clunk of cable
connection/monitor cable sitting right in front of me where my laptop
sits. Apple needed to make the male Mini-DVI part of the adapter have a
longer cord and not just a few inches. I'd like to stash the actual part
that connects to my Viewsonic DVI connector behind my desk and have a
longer and thinner Mini-DVI cord running to the Mini-DVI input on my
MacBook.
Thanks for any advice on where to get one if one exists.
What Apple needs to make is a Mini-DVI to male DVI that I can plug
directly into my monitor without needing another standard DVI cable.

Only Apple uses mini DVI, so your only choices are their adapter or the
one made by Dynex, which is just as clunky.
