G3 won't startup on external hd

Dear group,

My G3 (with pci ultra scsi card) won't startup on my external Lacie hard
drive (scsi). Command, option, shift and delete at startup don't work.
Selecting the hard drive don't work either. I've tried with the original
G3 8.6 CD installed, and then with MacOS 9, it won't startup. Please
help.Thanks.

Which SCSI card do you have? They don't all support booting up from
attached devices.
