New Mac game, Dark Horizons-Lore
I don't normally post in these groups (apparently few people do from the traffic I've seen lately), but I wanted to share some news about a new game that's out for the Mac called Dark Horizons - Lore. Here's the game's official web site if you want to check it out: [link] I was lucky enough to be one of the beta testers for the game, I've... more »

Myst III Exile on G5/Panther
Has anyone tried running Myst III Exile on the G5, specifically on Mac OS X 10.3 "Panther"? I've downloaded the 1.22 patch and the OS X version patch, and it seems to run fine, except that whenever a full-screen movie is played, the sound is really choppy, and cuts in and out every second or so. The... more »

Spaceward Ho! graphics file
I'm hoping that some very kind person will do me a favour. I've just bought a licensed copy of Spaceward Ho! for Macintosh version 4 (which I prefer to version 5!), but it's arrived without a vital file. Can anyone please send me a copy of the file "Ho! 4.0 Color Picts"? Thanks very much in advance.... more »

Can Quake 2 be kludged to run Kingpin: LOC on a Mac?
This is a little off the beaten path, I admit, but I'm hoping someone out there is clever enough to help me: I wanna' run a dedicated Kingpin server off my wife's iMac. I know it was never ported to Mac (commercially, anyway), but I have Quake 2 on that machine already, and since the Kingpin engine is a souped-up variant of Q2's, I'm hoping there might be some way to kludge it (maybe using KP's pak files).?... more »

Undying on OS X
I'm having problems running Clive Barker's Undying on Jaguar (10.2). When I launch the game everything runs fine. However, when the "movie" which introduces the background of the story finishes and the actual game starts, the program immediately quits on me. Does anyone have any clue as to what's going on?... more »

How to upgrade The Sims (+ all Expansion Packs) for OS X?
I recently picked up The Sims, plus all the expansion packs up to and including Vacation, at a discount software house type place. Got them all installed on my G4 TiBook running OS 9.2.2. Everything plays beautifully. I installed the games in the recommended order (The Sims, then Livin' Large, followed by House Party, then Hot Date, and last, Vacation). All of the... more »

WipeOut 2097 for OS X ... Open GL rendering
I am a Playstation Wipeout fan. I have Wipeout and Wipeout XL (Wipeout XL is the same game as Wipeout 2097 which has been ported to OS X) for the original PSX and Wipeout Fusion for the PS2. I just purchased the OS X version of Wipeout 2097. It's clearly rendering in 16-bit, dithered color. This is apparent both... more »
