So what's the deal with this sim? How does it compare to hornet?
Is there a demo? Is it worth buying?

This game doesn't get close to comparing with F/A-18. The frame rate is
just plain awful. I don't even think about frame rates on F/A-18; on
F117A, you can't help but quit after about 5 seconds of flight.

What machine were you running it on?

Aside from speed, how is the sim? Is the flight model any good? How are the
missions?

I initially ran it on a IIci. It was harsh.

I purchased a 7100 since then, and installed it again. The improvement
was minimal. Very choppy.

After playing F/A-18, this game was a true disappointment. I tried to
return it to Egghead promptly, but you know Egghead...As for the
missions, I really can't say that I've actually played one out. Maybe
somebody who stuck with it can help you out.

I played F117A on my 840av, and it was HORRIBLE! Worst ever simulator!

When you're talking about flight sims for Macs, that's a little like
asking, "aside from the fact that the car has no tires, how does it drive?"
Frame rate is EVERYTHING in my opinion. Without that, flight models, missions,
detail, and just about everything else goes out the window. F117 was just
about the worst sim I ever threw my money away on. And I was running it
on a Quadra 660AV. Does your vision in the real world operate at 4-5 frames
per second? Of course not. That's what makes it distracting when the overall
objective is realism. Try getting into one of those full-motion Link airliner
simulators sometime...they certainly don't settle for anything but true-to-life
realism, and neither did the people who created that masterpiece of desktop
simulators, F/A-18 Hornet. Get Hornet. Forget everything else.

(No, I don't work for them. Wish I did.)

I'm running F-117a on a quadra 650 and get about 7-9 fps, It still sucks!!
has anyone else looked at the resource files with resedit?
It seems to me that F-117 resource file was built on top of the
Civilization resource file, I just wonder how much of the resource file is
relevant and how much is a waste of disk space???

IMO don't buy it!! Don't accept it if someone offers to give it to you.
I would however trade MS Flight sim for it (that way reciveing the lesser
of two evils).

I read in a magaizine (one of those mac mags) that it was not all that great.
They say the frame rate was really bad on a quadra or something like that.
Also they said it doesn't compare to hornet or Chuck Yeager.Sent via the FirstClass (R) UUCP Gateway from Galaxy Online Services
