I give up...
I had my system partitioned so I could install Windows XP and use my precious scanner. But what happened I can't explain yet the XP OS has vanished. So I can reinstall it or find a Mac scanner and I can just keep the drive just for the one system. Any recommendations for a scanner. Slides & negatives are an important issue... more »

Flash and Safari 4.0.4
...I'm not having that problem here with Safari 4.0.4, SL, and Flash content, and that's on both a Mac Pro and a MacBook. Do you have the same problem from another user account?

ipfw interfering with dhcp?
Hi, I am running ipfw with a custom setup through Waterroof on my Macbook (Leo 10.5.8). In some areas like this hotel I am in now I seem to be unable to get a dhcp address unless I turn the firewall off. Is this normal? In other areas I have no such issues with ipfw on. Macc Dude.

?Why? Router stops network transfers
I've fixed this problem, but perhaps there is a network guru who can hazard a guess as to why it happened. For the last week I was having trouble watching Flash video, say the New York Times and others (but not all, YouTube worked). The videos would play for about 2 or 3 minutes and then stall. There would be no way to... more »

Device won't connect
I listen to music stored on my computer using the software SqueezeBox Server (formerly SlimServer) and two SqueezeBoxes, hardware music players to which the music is served. My old Squeezebox 2 keeps a reliable connection. My new SqueezeBox Radio has twice lost connection to the Server, and I have not been able to get it back.... more »

MT-Newswatcher and Snow Leopard
Hi, Curious if anyone else is having the trouble that I'm having with MT-Newswatcher hanging a lot now that I'm running on Snow Leopard. I've tried both the current release and the latest beta. The hangs seem to be random, but very commonly it'll hang when I try to quit, but I have seen it hang right in the middle of typing an article to be posted.... more »

WLAN - app to see occupied channels - iStumbler not working anymore?
In the past I had used iStumbler with success to see which WLAN channels were occupied, the names of the networks, and interferences. Now running Mac OS X 10.6, the latest release 98 of iStumbler seems not to show all networks anymore. Is there any other application to diagnose WLAN problems such as two... more »

iTunes Internet Radio
I'd like to put CBC radio live broadcast on the iTunes internet radio app. At the moment, the only way to do that by downloading downloading PLS files from the CBC home page. Is the app closed, or can one add to it? If it's possible to do it, I'd like to have the CBC broadcast placed in Public Radio.... more »

Help with curl statement?
Trying to download a file from a http server using curl. This is the format I've tried so far: user$ curl -a --retry 100 [http URL] When the remote server doesn't respond, Terminal simply quits with that message. Apparently retry doesn't work in this context. How do I get curl to retry when the remote server doesn't respond?... more »
