Parallels Desktop - An Oddity

I'm using Parallels Desktop (Build 8.0.18314) running on my iMac (OS X
10.8.2). When viewing my account via Finder there are two folders
labelled Applications and Applications (Parallels) Opening Applications
reveals a single folder Windows 8 Applications.app. Opening that folder
reveals all the applications available including those I have
installed. If I open the folder Applications (Parallels) that reveals a
single folder Windows 8 Applications. Opening that folder reveals the
same set of applications that were shown via Applications.
Thus I have two seperate folders which show the same content. So the
question is why two seperate folders with identical content and are
they both needed by Parallels?

It's not odd because it's the way Parallels works. If you need to know
the purpose of the directories, or you have other questions about
Parallels, <http://forum.parallels.com> is an excellent resource.

the purpose of the directories, or you have other questions about
