Hello,

Does iMovie have the ability to put one video that contains
transparency on top of another?

In television, this technique is called "green screen". In Photoshop,
it's called a "layer" with transparency.

For an example of a video using transparent layers (or whatever it's
called), please see:

(after the preliminary advertisement).

I looked in iMovie's "help" for green screen and transparency; and
found nothing.

Thank you!

iMovie'09 has green screen capability, the previous version did not.
The original iMovie and iMovie HD supported a plug-in architecture that
allowed green screen via third-party offerings. I cover iMovie's
greenscreen compositing on pages 140-142 of "iMovie'09 & iDVD'09 for
Dummies."
