Today my Dashboard apps are not accepting mouse clicks, though I can
click on them and move them around with the mouse, but clicking in an
entry field (Dictionary) or clicking on the Calculator buttons doesn't
work either.

Anyone have this happen, if so, how do I solve this problem?

Follow up to my post, I rebooted my iMac running OS 10.7.4 and now all
my Dashboard apps are back working as they should. So I've solved the
problem, but would like to know what might have caused the problem.

I would guess one of the widgets you have installed / running is causing
a problem.

You can just kill the Dock to restart Dashboard, rather than restarting
the whole system.

You can kill the Dock a couple different ways. Two that come immediately
to mind:

* Execute this command in a terminal window: killall Dock

* Run /Applications/Utilities/Activity Monitor, and quit it from there.

Logging out and logging back in will do it too, and muh faster than
rebooting.

The mouse was actually working in Dashboard, I could click on anyone of
the my widgets and move them around the screen, the mouse click didn't
work within any of the fields or buttons of the widgets.

I think this happened to me once. The best I could figure out was that
one of the widgets had grabbed mouse focus and then got stuck in a loop.

Restarting Dashboard, by killing the Dock, cleared it up.
