Hi. I'm interested in testing Bento 4 to see if it fits a project I'm
now working on.

However, I tried the demo last year and so when I ran Bento tonight
after downloading it, Bento told me the trial had expired.

I then restarted my Mac using an external drive and tried opening Bento
that way. But, Bento again said my trial has expired.

Does anyone know what files I need to remove to allow me to try Bento
in demo mode again? I'm guessing the files are invisible, because I
couldn't find them in my Library.

Thanks.

Michael, thanks for the advice. I'll contact them later in the day.
What are you using now intead of Bento?

I may use Devonthink Pro, but I want to check out Bento first. I bought
Devonthink Pro a year or so ago as part of a software bundle. But I
hadn't used it until now and I was trying to set it up the way I'll
need.

It seems pretty powerful and may to do just what I want, but it is less
intuitive or as pretty to look at as Bento is.

In article <2012052400322830636-nothingtoseehere@movealongnet>,
you could try removing all preference files for bento, but if they're
smart they created a cryptically named invisible file somewhere.
otherwise it would be trivial to extend the trial indefinitely, which
is exactly what they don't want. a lot of apps create invisible files,
so be careful what you delete.

I have a program called Clean My Mac that I got in a bundle. It erased
all the files and now I can use the Bento demo. I should have tried it
before I posted here.

those cleaning apps just search for files with the same name as the app
in preferences, application support, etc. apparently bento didn't do
anything clever.
