I don't have an iPod, but what happens if you re-select the option?

iTunes doesn't store artwork on an iPod unless the artwork is going to
be displayed on it. However it should still be visible in iTunes, and
would be re-transferred to the iPod if you changed the setting back at
some point.

If my daughter does not want mine... I will give my shuffle to
you Leo! I am going to get myself an MP3 player that has a little
speaker, can be powered by an ordinary battery, can be fast
forwarded and does not drive me insane with its cuteness and
cussedness.

I thank you dorayme, but I'm nearly deaf, and all the newfangled sound
delivery systems fail on me. I won't wear a hearing aid though. A
hearing aid would only add to my aged look.
I listen to talk radio really loud. My friends don't come over anymore.
I can hear a Canada goose honking a mile away but can't hear my wife
from five feet. Something about high tones. Alas.

There are probably hearing aids that are discrete... I
understand that the better ones are very expensive though...
But I do understand.

It's gone from the iPod but should still be in iTunes on your computer.
Re-enable the option and it will get loaded back to the iPod.

Well, what would be the purpose of not displaying album art if not to
save space?
