Does anyone know of a good equalizer for the iMac? I have been trying to
use the "line-in" jack to play my Sony MiniDisc deck through my iMac - the
line levels are way too high and the sound is unbearably distorted.

Use the MiniDisc's headphone output and adjust the volume control.
