Steve makes it very clear that he openly commits the sins he *perceives*
others do. Steve is a self declared "troll hunter" who not only thinks
others "deserve" to be trolled and flamed, not only believes he has some
special obligation to be the one to "hand them back the crap they spew", but
is so delusional he believes he is "forced" to do this "crap"!
I rarely use all caps, but this is worth giving special emphasis:

[Note how my claim is fully justified]
Steve has made the following accusations (rarely with any support):
* abusing prescription drugs
* altering and misattributing quotes, taking things out of context
* being hypocritical and "posting irrelevant BS"
* bullying people, being an "anal retentive, hypocritical asshole"
* doing anything they can to get the last word in
* having sex with farm animals, committing incest and adultery
* lying, being disingenuous, denying factual evidence, deluding themselves
* making ad hominem attacks
* making inappropriate sexual comments and advances
* posting bigoted and ignorant attacks
* sniffing glue, popping multi-colored pills, drinking excessively
* stealing ID's, forging posts, avoiding kill filters (nymshifting)
* using sock puppets, outright forgeries
Being that Steve does many of those things on a regular basis in CSMA (and
other groups he cross posts to), and being that Steve thinks it is his
obligation to do those things, there is *no* reason to think that Steve does
not commit all of the acts on that list - even the ones that cannot be seen
in a text-based public forum.

Remember, a troll needs attention to his trolling, so whenever he is
in a lengthy thread arguing only with this one poster, the troll is
likely to break out of that thread and start another thread that will
be one way to evade the first thread and also draw more attention from
more people. An example of this is this thread [1] where Michael
creates a completely new thread which is totally off topic and an
off-spring of a length discussion he's had with Steve and Elizabot.
