It also might help to explain why he's so mean-spirited in his posts.

Sure. Just like Jim has better things to do than argue with John yet spends
8-10 hours a day trying to one up him.

I have lots and lots of Windows using friends and colleagues and I have
great respect for many of them. I don't dislike people because they're
Windows users. I usually pity them because it's from that group of
people that I hear stories about hard drives biting the dust or Windows
requiring a reinstall that kills a night's productivity or programs
behaving erratically or problems caused by cheap, shitty RAM that takes
ages to troubleshoot or drivers being incompatible with some OS update.

That's no reason to dislike anyone. I dislike people because they come
to Mac user forums and piss in the pool and hurl insults around and
generally behave like retarded monkeys.

It's not because you use Windows, Muahman--it's because you come here
and post stupid anti-Mac tripe. That's why you suck. I would never
bother trying to email anyone to get you fired or whatever, but I can
certainly understand why your behavior around here might tempt someone
to do such a thing. Stop whining or go away.

I would actually love to spend some time searching for you in various
ways because I think you're a spoiled little punk and it would be
hilarious to see where else your name shows up, what other
embarrassments you have lying in wait. There are also other ways to
track people down online that go well beyond Google, but I don't care
nor do I care to.

Or maybe it just seems like 8-10 hours a day... you know... sometimes
time just seems to creeeeeeep by... weird, huh... oooohhh... trippy. It
seems like an hour has gone by, but it's only been five minutes. Whoa.
Oh dude... did I just say that out loud?

Of course. I do that when I am preparing to sleep, and, generally when I am
sleeping, though I am not aware of it in general terms. Just have to trust

I have not proved it... in other words I have a 100% lack of proof, which is

Say what things? That 2+2=4? Oh my. Do you really need me to say that to
you in person to understand it? Sure, send me some plane tickets. When I
have some time off I could use a vacation. I expect that you will put me

just something decent. You should also send some cash so I can pay for a
house sitter to watch my pets; I do not place them in doggy hotels.

Where do you live again? I would love to get a free vacation where the only
"price" was having to spend a few seconds helping you with such math
problems. In addition to checking my and my wife's schedule. I would like
to have some time to check the weather and other local factors to help make
my vacation as enjoyable as possible.

Shall I send you a private e-mail with a PO Box for you to send the above?
Oh, and thanks for the offer.

No desire for you to come here. What is in it for me. Send me the above, I
will take a vacation when I get a chance. If you do not want me to come to
you, perhaps we can find a mutually agreeable place. I spent some time in
France a few years ago and would love to return. Even places in Mexico or
Canada would do. Or how about Hawaii, I think it would be great to go
there.

Again, thanks for the offer; I am sure you will be happy to make it all come
true. After all, you started this post out calling me a liar; you would
never do that if you, yourself, were not one. Or would you?

Pretty much comes down to the culture of csma - when someone honestly admits
a mistake, in this case a minor one, it allows others to declare fair game
for attacks. It is one reason people tend to stick to there guns even when
they are clearly wrong. You can tell the brave / more honest folks by
looking to see if they ever admit they are wrong or have learned something
(other than so-and-so is an ass).

Your usage is very common, if that helps. For many users, opening a folder
is using "Windows" and right-clicking > Exploring is using "Windows
Explorer". Not accurate, but the common terminology...

I tell you what. If you want to come to San Jose to "give me a severe

the fight, I'll re-imburse you your airfare on the spot. If I win the

Yet, you want to either come to my city or pick me up at the airport. In
either case, you would follow me around the whole time trying to convince
me, and whoever I was with, that since I have admitted I cannot prove that
2+2=4, then that means I have no proof, or 100% lack of proof, and therefore
my argument has been fully refuted. You would then conclude that since I
have been fully refuted, 2+2 must not equal 4.

You have followed very much that line of reasoning before, online:

You have also stated you would not hesitate to say in person what you have
online. Seems you would be very likely to follow me around in person with
the same innate argument. I certainly do not want that, and I cannot

So, if it is that important to hear face to face that 2+2=4 from me, you

C gates, but in the main building). Seems a safe enough meeting public
meeting place. If you promise you will not try to follow me to my flight
(you have no need to know where I am going) I will meet you there. I will
be the one holding a sign that says "Hey Steve, 2 + 2 = 4" for you. You
will be there I assume... right?

Wanna bet you won't be there.

And please let me know why you want to tell me that 2+2=4

not think they have any clocks in that area, so maybe I will need a couple
pics - one of a clock with the date and one with me in the designated area
with the sign (I am sure I can find someone to take the shot).

Can you guess who will not be in the picture?

Follow me around telling me that since I have no proof that 2+2=4 then I
have 100% lack of proof and that means my claim that 2+2=4 is fully refuted.
You have stated you would be the same in person as you are online, and look
at how long you did it online:

http://groups.google.com/groups?q=%22lack+of+100%25+proof%22&hl=en&lr=&ie=UT
F-8&oe=UTF-8&scoring=d&filter=0

You would also just lie a lot. Let's take a look at this new little pissing
match between us. The following is every related word you said to me since
you made your offer. Notice your flip-flopping around? Here goes:

-----

-----

Here you offer to meet me face to face. No conditions, just say that you
would "visit [me] for a bit". You have previously stated that you can fly
for free... so an airport should be a good place for you.

-----

Well, now you say if I want to come see you, I have to pay. Hmmm, you seem
to be backing down a little...

-----
> Just let me know your flight number, I'll pick you up from the airport.
-----

Ok, presumably you want me to pay, but you still want to meet me.

-----

> Go away, coward. I offered to come to your place and you turned me down.
> I offered to pick you up at the airport in Denver... I see no flight
> number from you. Tell me again who is crumbling here you little wimp:)

-----

You never did offer to come to my place. You offered to meet me face to
face. When I suggested a place close to you I was informed you would not
cover the cost to make *your* dream of meeting me come true. I cannot say I
have any great desire to meet you - why should I pay to do so? You want to
meet me - *your* dime.

-----
> The airport is a public place;) I doubt we'll talk much about numbers,
> though. When did you say you were coming? Didn't quite catch the date.
-----

Granted, you are not talking about the airport I later offered to you, but
you seem to think airports are OK places to meet.

You also are now saying here we would not talk much about numbers. Above,
however, you seemed to want to talk about 2+2=4. Granted there are operands
and a equality symbol, but hard to discuss that without talking about
numbers. Just what did you want to meet about?

-----

> Nicolas and John:)

-----

Again back to the lie about meeting me where I live. And the lie about
meeting me where you live - you never offered that, and when I suggested it
you wanted me to pay for your little fantasy.

I have offered to meet you someplace you can get to for free or cheap
(whatever your claim once was), and that someplace is neutral for both of
us, and is public so it should be fairly safe. I can always call security
if you start to follow me around begging to explain why lack of proof equals
a disproof...

-----

-----

Now I have clearly made my offer to meet you in the Vegas airport, and *you*
are suddenly not so happy about the idea. Not at all.

-----

-----

Here you added all sorts of things - come to my city, place of my choosing,
with all my pals... you never said that to me. You were simply lying. Then
you try to turn that around on me and say *I* am the one not telling the
truth.

Seems you have no idea what your offer was, and are not really certain why
you want to meet me.

In any case, can I expect to see you in Vegas?
