So, a "NEW BIG THING" that falls on it's flat on it's face. iSteve
must be rolling over in his jar.

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/professional-designers-call-apples-iphone-144003657.html

Apple's new operating system for iPhones and iPads, iOS 7, is a
complete redesign over what you're used to using.

The change is so huge, in fact, that Apple calls it its biggest update
to the iPhone software since the original iPhone launched in 2007.

There's no doubt about that.

But a lot of professional designers aren't as enthusiastic about the
iOS 7's new look. Since Apple's announcement yesterday, designers have
called iOS 7 everything from "inconsistent" to just plain "ugly."
There's even a Tumblr blog full of iOS 7 design complaints.

Here's a look at what designers are saying:

Sorry to say but iOS 7 design is the ugliest ever.
— pod2g (@pod2g) June 10, 2013

1. Helvetica sucks for OS2. Helvetica Light sucks more3. Helvetica
Light & tight übersucks.#ios7

Sorry, Jonathan Ive, I loved your work, but you've created crap. #ios7
I feel betrayed. :-)
— Serg Metelin (@sergmetelin) June 11, 2013

The entire UI insists upon itself, and the color palette is far too
pedantic.This "interface" is simply unusable. #iOS7 #wwdc
— Paul Fort (@work_paul) June 11, 2013

They gave one different icon for each Junior Designer #iOS7. Don't
worry it was just a prank. By September we will have the real icons.

Also, feel the love:

http://designerscomplaining.tumblr.com/

But don't worry, Gawee and Alwin, "The Next Big Thing" is coming,
unfortunately not from Appil.

Put your "Great Apphole Hopes" into the, hehehe, black toilet paper
roll, Mac Pro.

A lot of people seem to like it: <http://reviews.cnet.com/apple-ios-7>

As of right now (subject to change):
-----
Are you feeling Apple's new look and feel for iOS 7?

Heck yeah -- I dig it! 66%
I prefer the old interface, actually. 13%
The jury's still out. I could probably get used to it. 21%
-----

I would like to see the way it changes the background based on how you move
it. Might make it feel more 3D and be a good thing... or it might just make
the user dizzy. Same with the transparencies... would have to see them to
really get a feel for them. Not sure I want my wall paper color to affect so
much of the UI.

Where are their credentials? Or are they just called "professional
designers" just because they dislike iOS7?

Isn't Jony Ive a professional designer? I wonder what his thoughts is on
the UI...

Maybe the biggest change, but still only just no more than a paint coat
on an obsolete smartphone OS.

I've been reading similar comments from around the web. One person
said said something along the lines of "Apple just tried to make a
toasted shit sandwich and failed. They could only get it brown on one
side..."

So, "You" and "fancy" were somehow misspelled? How? Looks more like a
missing space to anyone with critical thinking skills greater than
yours...wihch is to say just about *everyone*.

I can't say one way or another as I haven't had a chance to play with
it yet. I need the whole experience to have a qualified opinion.

Now if we're talking superficial impression of it visually, I have to
say it's remarkably more Android like in some respects, but again this
is only a superficial observation.

I am curious to try it out my iPad, however.

They were misspelled as "youfancy", Flint. Seriously? Hahaha! You think
that's the correct spelling of those two words?

So you admit that my "youfancy" are "those two words", then huh? I
agree, they are. Glad we cleared that up.

Not to mention putting words in others mouth all the time. His
"HAHAHhahaha" nonsense is so sophomoric. He thinks he's making fun
of others, but his "HAHAs! I'm making funof you!" comes off as forced
and more of a petulant demand for attention, so Jaybirdsong and I tend
to occasionally pay a bit of attention to Alan's "mutt". :)

Same for computers. I don't care a whit what you use and like other
