Why do you think it is "ordinary" and "common" to be overpriced?

You forgot malware free.
Yeah - once upon a time in the distant past when Apple really stood for
quality and technical superiority. But - along came Windows 95 and ended
that myth.
Yeah, $150+ for Windows SP7 isn't?
Luckily I only paid $30 for my FULL retail version of professional.
Now I'm getting Ultimate Full for about $40. The maximum I'll go is $50
for this bid.
Remember kids, only use American sellers with 100% positive feedback -
with 100 or more feedback comments.
Wish me luck!
Luck!

Why do you need another copy? I thought you only had one Windows
machine.

I don't. My parents do.
My mom has a HP (dv6000) laptop I bought her for mothers's day - running
Vista Home.
I want to put it to 7 Ultimate and enable Bitlocker's full HD
encryption. She travels and laptops like to get stolen.
Then there's the desktop machine I built them which was running Vista
Ultimate. I stole that copy of Vista from the Action Pack at the last
place I worked. It is now running 7 Professional - the $30 one I keep
bragging about. Its a 3.0Ghz Core 2 Duo with a RAID 1. It will
eventually be replaced by an iMac either 21.5 or 27" depending on when I
actually make the purchase. I usually get refurbs.

Ahh, makes sense. :) Otherwise, I would pretty much recommend Pro,
since it has Extended Support.

It is cool that you take care of your parents' computer needs. I
often get frustrated with that, since I'm the only desktop user.
Laptops are always a pain in the ass, it seems.

When it comes to computer security I'm one step below tinfoil hat.
somebody takes that laotop, My address, information is on there.
So is info about my bother- everyone. Who knows whats in her Firefox cache.
Then she has case files, and patient info on there.
So yeah, Bitlocker or bust.

Indeed.
Like I said, these will be the last 'Dozers I get them.
Then its Mac all the way.
I may take a job that lets me travel all over the world, so they'll need
an iMac with iSight. We'll use iChat.
However, I'm not quite there yet.

I wholeheartedly agree. That's the only reason I'd ever use Ultimate,
and it's potentially a very good one.

It does seem that Apple has made a lot of inroads in the laptop
market. My experience with Windows laptops leads me to believe there
may be a great reason for that.

I was away in business in Puerto Rico. Windows took a shit and instead
of spending time drinking and on the beach, I had to diagnose it.
Thats when I made the switch.
I was finishing my Masters degree and I had to finish a paper. I
figured I could finish it, and email it to the prof. Nope. Doze had
other plans.

Damn. Sorry to hear that.

You've just defeated every troll argument that is common in the group,
and made no sense of your own.
The most foolish post this week?
Well, a troll proving he isn't worth reading.
