Hi,
i have a working MAI Basic Four System 2000 running BOSS/IX. BOSS/IX is
based on Charles River UNOS, a 68000 Realtime Unix-Like OS. I'm looking
for Software, the C-Compiler, the Pascal Compiler, the Debugger, ...
The machine is equipped with a 68010 and some Z80 used for Serial Port
handling, Tape handling and the Winchester disk controller.
All executables are in UNOS rel format, newer versions >=7 of UNOS also
supports coff. I got some files from UNOS 7, some are in rel format and
can be started but there are problems with file i/o, for example the
assembler starts but is not able to generate output files. The original
c and pascal compiler (and the debugger) are licensed from Silicon
Valley Software, Inc.
I'm looking for these software from UNOS or from BOSS/IX (i have 7.5B),
i dont know the exact version of UNOS used to create BOSS/IX but it is
older than UNOS7. All rel file headers contain:
"Copyright 1982 Charles River Data Systems, Inc. All Rights Reserved."
And the system starts with (reported from /etc/start):
"UNOS (C) 1981 BY CHARLES RIVER DATA SYSTEMS, INC."
If you may have some software from UNOS or BOSS/IX or have an idea where
to ask, please contact me.
It is really hard to find information for old Basic Four Machines or for
UNOS, i only found a few information regarding MAI Basic four and nearly
nothing about UNOS.
Thanks
Btw, this is the machine:
