I really have to do an inventory of all my stuff......I have reached
the age where it is an absolute requirement.
I have a digital voice recorder and would like to be able to plug it
into a laptop (IBM, of course) and convert my ramblings to a text
file.
I know there are a gazillion programs out there that profess to do
just that, but am looking for input from you folks......
Any takers?

OS/2 Warp 4
Hi DanO.......
Absolutely wonderful idea.....thank you! Gonna start on it
today.....will post my results.......

Replying to my own posts again.....redundancy reigns.....
Anyway, I don't have a copy of OS/2 Warp 4 so I went a-hunting. Ebay
is without, so I poked around and found a few at $400 and some cheaper
but still way above my price range.
I did, however find this site:
Strange happenings there......I went in and registered and downloaded
a version of OS/2 Warp 4 that contained 39 floppy disk images. No big
deal as I like making floppies.....but the site shut down immediately
after I downloaded the .rar file and I could never access it again.
Go figure...
Anyway, if anybody knows where I can find a CD that I can afford,
please point me in that direction, OK?

Many moons ago, an Australian computer magazine gave away a free copy one
month, it was a feature on alternative OS's. CD had Warp 4, BeOS, and
something else I don't recall.
Must have one here somewhere if your interested.
Pete.
Hi Pete....

Hi Moussa.....
I need all the help I can get :-)...........feeding 39 disks is a LOT
of work (although not as much as AIX for PS/2)

IBM had something like Via Voice for Windows, could be easier to set up. But
you can do easier, just record a file per item and store the sound files in
MP3, name each file appropriately.
For speech to text, you have to first train the software, you would most
certainly need to edit later the text.
