IBM Deskstar won't boot of CDROM

I have two hard drives on mobile racks (drive sleds) One is an IBM deskstar 120G (IC35L120AVVA07) and the other is a WD. I also have a Toshiba CD-Rom in the Primary Slave postion. When I boot with the IBM drive in the primary master and have the CDROM in the boot sequence before IDE 0 I get "Searching for Boot Record on CDROM.."... more »

Is it possible to let the internal modem dial a voice-connection and then use the microphone and speakers in the laptop as if it were a phone ? thinkpad i1400 hard drive replacement

Anyone have instructions on how to open the case on a thinkpad i series 1400 2621-422 to get to the hard drive? Lifting the keyboard off and the silver plate as described at [link] 1500.pdf only gets to the cd rom. I suspect the hard drive is actually under the palm rest.... more »
