IBM MT-M 8189 E1U
My pc stopped booting and will not even go into BIOS. Normally, I
would think that motherboard, processor, or drive is dead. But I see
some interesting things, thus not make it an ejunk yet. It still
recognizes all the hardware and my processor (2.8Gz).
On reboot:
- I see IBM logo and it says to interrupt normal boot, press ENTER key
- If I press the enter key, nothing happens
- If I press the ESC key, I see that it does detect my processor, ram
passed, disk drive, dvd drive - No problem. On that screen it show F1
to enter setup.
- I press F1. It stays "Entering setup" but nothing happens
This same thing happened few times before but I was able to unplug and
take out the BIOS battery and put it back in again. Then it would be
fine for a while but still give some error on bootup where I had to
just go into BIOS and then it will boot. But now, that method does
not work either.
I would appreciate any ideas to try. Thanks in advance.
Do you have any genius ideas? I have replace the battery with new
battery. The system's warranty just expired in June this year.
