Any recommendations for decent free software (windows or "live" disk)
that could give me some idea how bad the damage (data wise) is?
While the valuable data (already backed-up) on the card appears to be
still mostly readable (using the phone as a card reader) other data
(mainly phone settings and application data) seems to be boned. I want
to see what is likely to be damaged and what isnt.
