Hello all,

I am having problems with a realtek RTL8168/8111 PCI-E Gigabit
Eithernet NIC. It is VERY SLOW. It is built onboard my motherboard a
MSI P965.

Currently i subscribe to bellsouth DSL extreme 6meg service. I have
two computers in my house a dell and the home built rig (the one with
the problems) the dell will clock download speeds of ~5500 kb/s while
my new computer will only clock ~2500kb/s. Here is a link to the
results from speedtest.net <a href="http://www.speedtest.net"><img
src="http://www.speedtest.net/result/153414472.png"></a>

I have tried multiple Ethernet cables no luck there. Old drivers, new
drivers no luck there. Does anyone have any hints for me to try?

BTW the specs for the computer with the problem
MSI p965 motherboard
Intel Core2 Duo
2gb Ram
Evga Nvidia geforce 8800gts graphics card
Windows XP Pro

It could be screwing up when it tries to autodetect the speed of the port
you have plugged it into.
Try locking it to 100M full duplex in the driver settings.

I tried all the settings 100 full, 100 half, 10 full, 10 half... all
settings still produce almost exactly the same results.

Have you checked all the MTU, RWIN etc. settings?
