Last night I unwittingly Quick Erased a data DVD+RW, wiping out
important files, instead of copying it as I meant to do. Is there a way
to "unerase" a Quick-Erased DVD+RW (or CD-RW for that matter)? I've
downloaded trial versions of several applications, but they don't seem
to be able to do anything with a disk with an erased TOC. Is there
*ANY* application that will allow me to recover my files? I'm currently
using Nero Express 6 on Windows XP. I also have a Linux box if there's
an open source utility available.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Unlike for a regular hard disk, I've never heard of any software that
will do this with a DVD+RW (or a DVD-RW).

Isobuster claims to be able to recover files from "quick erased" CD-RW
and DVD+RW discs.

"Recover data from blanked or quick formatted DVD+RW media."

That's a line from their web page:

CnW Recovery has a routine that has been used many times to recover
from quick erased CD-RW. It also handles quick formatted DVD+RW, as
long as one uses a DVD RW drive.

DVD-RW is currently a problem!
