I have recently purchased the game Another World (aka. Out of this World, in the
US). The box claimed that it had support for the Roland sound card, but when I
installed it, it only had support for SoundBlaster, ADlib and Disney sound
source.

Does anyone know if the US version of this game actually has Roland sound card
support? I would ring the UK distributors, but they have little technical
knowledge about the games they resell.

I would like to try and get hold of the additional files that are required for
Roland sound. I have downline loaded the updated version of the game from
CompuServe, but it didn't help.

Thanks

Mark...

It has Roland support, however, you need either the LAPC-1 or a CM-32L to
hear anything -- NOT an MT-32. This is one of the few games available
that actually use the special effect sounds (laser, footsteps, thunder, etc...)
of these newer cards, and this games uses these noises exclusively. There
is no music put through. (Kinda disappointing, IMO). So, that is probably
why you aren't hearing anything. If you have an LAPC-1 or CM-32L, then I
have no idea what could be your problem. Hope this helps...
