Just curious but are there any games in development where you can just
play a long campaign from any time period? It seems that everyone is
pushing a game that deals with a particular operation or battle, with
a certain number of scenarios and once you've played them all, what's
left. Perhaps I'm missing the boat but it seems that there's a niche
for a game like Steel Panthers done at the divisional level. One
would pick their divisions and off you'd go with a number of battles
to play and rankings based on how you did. SSG's Ardennes Offensive
or Atomic's World at War had what I feel would be a good scale and it
seems one would get a chance to try endless "what if" options. World
War 2 seems like a good starting point but perhaps future mods could
be purchased for other time periods and if there were options to add
user scenarios or campaigns I would think it might set some sales
records.

Comments or thoughts?

but why would they choose to make it look like a $5 folio game.

Ah, rereading the original post, yeah - I just saw 'long campaign" and
"Steel Panthers" and jumped the gun.

Thanks for the information. My only gripe is that it looks like my pc
is getting too old to run the newer games so it might be time look
into that as well.
