Hi Eddy. You saved me the trouble of posting something on this one.
It is a very similar game to Take Command: 2nd Manassas but instead
focusing on Gettysburg with online multiplayer. If you liked TC2M, I
feel safe in saying you'll like War3DII:Gettysburg (no idea what the
acronym will be, W3D2G?) as well. A dedicated web page for the game
is up as well at: http://www.norbsoftware.com/Gettysburg/
Full disclosure to the group: I did most of the order of battle work
on this one and was involved in a little bit of the playtesting for
TC2M.
Brett
Brett, can you tell us if there's any limitation on the number of
units that the multiplayer code can handle, brigade, division, corps?
Full disclosure here as well : because of the content of private
emails I got I'm siding with Adam in the Take Command partnership
breakup and will not buy Norb Timpko's new game for that reason alone,
though I have and enjoyed the previous Take Command games.
As everyone is free to make his own choice regarding this I don't mind
posting relevant info, but that's as far as it goes.
The details behind the whole sordid story are extremely ugly - and I
don't claim to know all of them so I'm not going to try to convince
others, I just made up my own mind regarding this with the info I
have.
Greetz,
Eddy Sterckx
Good question. Unfortunately, I don't know if there are going to be
any limitations just yet. I basically passed my OOB info on to the
team and I'll be playtesting a little later in the development
process. I'll see if I can find some more info for you.
Brett
Eddy,
Fair enough. The first and only thing I'll say on the subject, having
known and interacted with both, is that the whole truth is not out
there and that the whole breakup of MMG was truly an unfortunate
event. I wish Adam the best and I hope he is doing well. I'll leave
it at that and focus on the game from here on out.
Brett
i never let other peoples relations wih each other effect my relations with
either.
I wouldn't touch it either.
Nob Timpko's what's stopped me getting 2nd Manassas, & what'll stop me
getting the new game too. I don't have any inside info. The public info
was enough.

Sometimes they won't let you. ;)
Very much looking forward to playing this game especially multiplayer.
