All,

I'm slowly working through the missing Civil War OOBs of the Nafziger
collection and converting them to PDFs according to the CARLs
standards. In addition, I'll be offering all of these files at TOCWOC
- A Civil War Blog as:

1. individual html files which can be accessed according to year and
month.
2. downloadable .txt files zipped up in one big package
3. downloadable .pdf files zipped up in one big package
4. downloadable .htmls files zipped up in one big package
5. the index file which links the numerical/alphabetical "code" George
used (i.e. 862AAB) to the actual titles of each file (i.e. Army of the
Potomac 31 May 1862)

The html files area of TOCWOC will be able to be searched from the
main Nafziger OOB Page. One word of caution. There are literally
thousands of instances where Wordstar conversion shows lowecase l's
where the number 1 should be. I'll be trying to convert as many of
these as possible over time, but keep that in mind while searching.

Could you send me one of those Wordstar files ? - I might have a
conversion trick up my sleave :)

Eddy,

I actually typed this incorrectly. George already sent me all of the
conversions from Wordstar to basic text files. The problem with the
l's is in the conversions. If I sent you one of those and pointed out
the issues which need fixing, do you think you might be able to design
something automated there? I could also have George send you some
original WordStar files too. I'd love to be able to fix everything in
one swoop so the search is easier.

Depends - if it can be automated, i.e. a rule-set can be devised for
it, it can be programmed.

Seems like the better option - I've worked with WordStar files before,
back in the Dark Ages :)

Eddy,

Sounds good. I'll shoot George an email and have him get you some
"samples". :-)
