Hi,

Best review I've read so far - mentions all the things wargamers find
important

I agree with almost everything it says except two things. The first it that,
given the scale, an abstracted air model (heavy bomber, multi-role
fighter...) is still the best way to go, IMHO. Having "named" capital ships
is a nice bit of chrome, but they were wise to stop at it.

The second is that the game is still unspeakabily buggy. 70% is too high. As
of patch 1.3 I would rate it at 50-55%. And it is still beaten to the ground
by a modded HoI2: Armageddon - not to mention the upcoming "Arsenal of
Democracy" (if the work done on EU2 for "For the Glory" is a sign of things
to come).

Q1-2010

The program lead described it as "Hearts of Iron II on steroids!" -
and "the ultimate World War II simulation"

I sure hope he doesn't mean more micro-managing and detail, but a more
realistic combat system and a better AI, but I'm not holding my
breath.
