I'm looking for a new strategy game. I would like something along the
lines of Siege or Warlords. Is there something out there that combines
some aspects of each of these?
What about Conquered Kingdoms? I've read praises for this, but don't
really know what it's about.
Thanks for your suggestions,
Chris

A really good strategy game I've been playing lately that works also as
an action/arcade game is Cyber Empires. I wasn't impressed with the box, much
less the details, but after a friend (thanks Dave!) let me borrow his copy, I
was SERIOUSLY impressed! An EXCELLENT strategy game.
The only drawback is that all the action takes place on one world on an
'island' of sorts. But there's plenty to do.
First off, you select how many opponents, human or computer you want
(total of 5 'nationalities', so you can max at 4 comp opponents). Then you can
choose whether you see everything going on or simply WHERE everyone is. Thus,
you never know where the other guy's mechs are 'til it's battletime. Next, you
select the wealth of the continent/island, poor/average/rich.
Next, you select the difficulty of your bad guys. This ranges from 1
(Nasty, and believe me, they make Genghis Khan look like the Avon lady!) to
Wimpy (STop! Or I'll say stop again!). Finally off to your 'country'. The
continent (as I'll call it from now on) is divided into smaller countries.
Each country has an individual terrain: coniferous, volcanic (complete with
lava pits...stay here too long and you'll be TOAST!), city, arctic, and desert.
Each terrain obviously effects how your mech will handle in battle.
You start with your little country, and a lotta money. YOu need to
build a factory, and start producing mechs, so you can range the countryside,
capturing countries and increasing your net income. The money is based on the
need for income (to produce/repair mechs, and to increase efficiency in mech
facilites, and to build fortifications to protect your cities).
Overall, an excellent game, though the blanking between scenes can get
annoying after a while.
I'd recommend this to anyone.
