Including in this group, I have been pushing for built-in RTS
scripting for many years, and have always used my own manual
implementation. I gave up on Forged Alliance shortly after it was
first published, without noticing that it includes "build templates".
Now I know. At first glance, it is an excellent method for scripting
your base and other stuff. The templates work regardless of zoom
level or even after you change screen resolution, and other problems
associated with manual scripting (like timing) appear to be gone.
This promises to be very cool.
Is Supreme Commander FA the first major/real RTS to include
scripting?
