I'm grinding thru all the conversations that supposedly would lead up to me
having the bloody hankerchief so I could travel to Ravel (ooo, I'm so
poetic). I got a silk hanky from AdderTongue, spoke to Kesai (or whatever)
and suggested she talk to her father, which supposedly she did, tho I didn't
listen in. After that, she agreed that Ravel was her mother, but didn't
give me a bloody hanky... wasn't that supposed to occur there?? I've
wandered around talking to others here (which is getting ***REALLY*** old),
but no other useful plot lines turned up. Did I miss something??? Did I
have to listen in on Kesai's conversation, in order to get the game to
proceed???

Also, is there any point, or end, to these circular tales of people having
things stolen from them, or is that just a red herring to chase???

If I recall correctly, you can just kill her and take a bloody hanky off her
body. But, that could be considered an evil thing to do.

There is a point and a solution.

[spoiler]

Spoken to anyone who likes to say secret and has a particular interest in
the ladies' scents and soft silky garments?

[spoiler]

Anyone who can move about freely within the brothel at night-time?

[spoiler]

Louis the Armoire. I only got it with high DEX.

The other follow-ups missed the point. You have to talk to a mage in
the civic hall, his name was Quell I think. He only talks to you if you
buy him a piece of chocolate from the curiosity shop.

I got stuck there too.

In article <8eidut$64j$1...@news02.btx.dtag.de>, Jochen Heistermann
<jochen.he...@t-online.de> elegantly stated

Sounds like usual problem with P:T .. knowing what to do (as in having
read a walk thru etc) doesn't let you do it =unless= your character has
found out in the game. If you don't have a quest for it, you can't do
it, even if you (the player) know you need to.

Exactly. Overusing of walkthroughs leads to this problem. I use them
too, but only when I am stuck and getting impatient or when I have finished
a certain area and want to find out, what I have overlooked.

Some bad designed games like gabriel knight 3 are unplayable with a
walkthrough. There are so crude puzzles that you never find out.
