Yep .. getting there. Skyrim is almost down to my acceptable
price for an "Oblivion" sequal ... which is about $20. I sure haven't
heard much about Skyrim over the years. And I went to Risen 2
and enjoyed it a lot. Just finished Gothic 3 again .. and noted
a lot of significant changes that I've never seen before. I know
my PC has a mind of it's own, and updates all my games in
silence. Heck, while I'm waiting on Skyrim to go cheap, it might
be fun to see what my PC has done to Risen 2.

Hmm, FWIW, I just picked up skyrim a few weeks ago, and I'd say that
while technically it doesn't seem much better, it's a lot more fun
than Oblivion. Some of the simplification / reduction in
micromanagement might not be to everybodys' tastes (though I don't
mind), but the world itself seems much more compelling.

I agree. Oblivion was annoying without much adventure. It had
possibilities, but no central theme like the Gothic series or
Risen. There has to be a story along with the action. I figure
Skyrim will be no different .. just more characters doing more.

Actually lots of different stories. Main Quest and a bunch of
extensive side-quests.

Steam-DRM protected of course in all versions. You require a Steam
account to install and play.

Skyrim's price is holding up impressively! It's out a year and a half.
