Far Cry (legacy) Blue Transparent Ground

This is for the original (legacy) *Far Cry v1.4.1405*
Running latest nVidia drivers v301.42 for my GeForce 7900GS 512mb
card, on a WinXP SP3 desktop.
When outdoors, in various areas, the ground is a semi-transparent
light blue.
I have tried various tweaks from "TweakGuides" but did not find a fix,
Can anyone point me to a fix?

Boy, that was a while ago. I'm not sure, but I think the next
official patch fixed a pile of that sort of thing. I remember having
that problem too. Also, I think I remember that in order for
the patch to work, you had to reinstall from scratch.
