Ok, so I'm a little bit confused by some of the hints that I've read here and online for this
portion of the game. Only after I rested for the first time did I remember that there was a
reason not to do so in Dragon's Eye... am I already doomed, or should I press on? I can't see
myself being able to clear another 2 levels without further resting.

Do I need to leave DE and go back to Hrothgar's Glen *before* going down the stairs to the last
level of DE? If so, can I rest there? Because I've been told that fight is particularly nasty.

Thanks!

Probably get more help over in alt.games.baldurs-gate

Also, this isn't a web-board, and "bumps" don't work, you need to re-ask
the question or otherwise the reader has to go back and try to re-
retrieve the older message which is difficult in some newsreaders.

Boy - it sure works for me. I'm using tin, and if a new message appears in a thread, the thread
shows up. Then I read it. But thanks anyway.

I asked here because this group was swamped with IWD2 messages in its day, and this is where I
read about the timing problems the first time. Not to mention that my newserver doesn't carry
a.g.bg.

Oh, well.

Well, my newsreader (Xnews) has the ability to "Reconstruct Thread" but I
have to actively do this and wait for it to go to the server and search
for the past messages, something that's not too handy but not impossible.
Some newsreaders might not even have that feature (such as Outlook
Express, I am not sure it has this). But it's just a lot easier for
everyone involved if you just repost the question or quote it.

I think this is a wholely appropriate newsgroup for your question. IWD2
wasn't terribly well receieved, however, so it's possible no one here
either played that far or remembers the answer to your question. I myself
didn't get that far in the game before getting distracted by something
else. I did enjoy it, and probably will go back to it at some point.

I will post your question to a.g.bg and if anyone answers I'll repost the
answer here.

It is appropriate here, but the guys who love the IE games hang out in
a.g.b.g especially Wes Weimer who helped me with a couple of tech
problems. The guys there, the last I saw, were still interested in
IWD2 mainly because of the Icewind Gate mod that Wes was developing.

If push comes to shove you can always use Google Groups.

Try the free german newsserver at news.individual.net

They carry most of the non-binary newsgroups and they are updated pretty
quickly.

Thanks for forwarding that! I got through it last night, having decided
to leave the area (to go and get the Holy Avenger) before resting. Looks
like I was worried a bit too much about it. Oh, well.
