Cheers, will do. Something to tide us over until D3. ;)

So, Torchlight will carry us over for another, oh, 42 months? :p
Great part of the manual:
"Everything you see in TORCHLIGHT is from a third-person asymmetric
perspective"
Er, I think they meant "isometric".
One of the more embarrassing of the plentiful english mistakes in the
manual. I guess they couldn't be bothered to proofread it even once before
burning the CD.
Neat game so far though.
As far as I can tell, it is only available for purchase via Steam. I
searched Amazon, GoGamer, etc... and couldn't find it. I even Googled
"buy Torchlight game" and got no results.

Q: Will there be boxed version? How about a collector’s version?
A: We are hoping to release a boxed version early next year. Currently, there is no collector’s version planned.

Thanks Andrew! So, I wasn't going crazy. I am going to have to read
the Gamespot review again as I don't think they even mentioned that!
I will wait for the boxed version to come out next year then. I
booted up Steam to see how big the download is and I saw no mention of
it.

Steam tells me the size of the local files for this game is 840Mb.

The download is only like 300MB, I think it's only 500MB installed.
It think it's available from a couple of digital download sites
(Gamersgate at least), I also thought it was available for direct
purchase on their website.
It is available on the games web site. It's the best $20 I've ever spent
on a new game. There is nothing "budget" about this game. It's a ton of
fun and looks amazing. I like the art style, which is a nice break from
all the gritty life like games I've been playing. This game has it all
if you're a ARPG fan. The game has a lot for me to do and is very
addicting. I played it for 7 hours yesterday and it seemed like I'd only
played for an hour or so. I love having a pet. I can upgrade it's stats
through rings and neck wear, and it will gain XP also. It will also cast
spells which is very handy once you get your pets stats up.
The part I like the best so far is being able to buy maps which take you
to different dungeons. I have only gone down to the third level of the
games main quest mine, and have spent hours and hours playing the maps I
buy, which are a lot!
I've read you can run through the game in around 15 hours. Hell I've
spent over that in just the maps I've bought, and I have about 20 more
to go, with new ones on sale every time I visit the merchant that sells
them! Each map also has a level scale on it so you know what you're
getting into. But don't think just because a map states it a level 1-10
that it's going to be easy, oh I found out the game has some tricks it
pulls on you!
Great game for only $20.

No mention on their site if you are purchasing a boxed version or not.
The only options to click are PayPal or Google store. I clicked
Google and it was looking for payment information without mentioning
what I was purchasing (download or boxed)!
Really professional!!

Where did you find that information?
In Steam I go to the My games tab, right-click on the game and select
Properties. In the Local files tab of that window it tells me disk
usage is 840Mb.
Good to know, but I don't think that is the download size but the
install size instead.
Thanks
Once you finish the main quest you gain access to the "Infinite
Dungeon". As the name implies, infinite levels and increasingly
harder monsters. But good tip on the maps at the merchat. I had no
idea what those were for.
418MB download, 435MB installed for me. Purchased directly from their
website, FWIW.

I gave in and bought it (from Steam). My connection isn't that great
(1,500 down) but it only took a little more than a 1/2 hour. Also
downloaded the PDF manual (why it is not available at their website is
pretty unprofessional to me).
I am having a blast with it!
Thanks,

The only crying shame is that this little gem doesn't have a LAN/TCP mode
*sob*. However, they are planning a mmo based on the game, which can only be
a good thing imo.

Doesn't matter to me. I don't have anyone local to play with any way!
