Hi,
I'm not sure if this is the right forum to ask this question, but I'm
looking to buy a table top rpg board game that I can play with my
friends. I remember as a kid playing a board game where each player
had a little plastic figure (theif, warrior, or wizard) and they would
explore a dungeon fighting monsters, collecting treasure, and
ultimately winning by (killing dragon, finding chalice, etc. etc.). I
don't recall if was an official DnD game, but for the life of me I
can't find it. I searched this morning but I couldn't find one that I
liked. Does anyone have any recommendations for table top RPG?
Thanks

This game? Dungeonquest by Games Workshop?

Maybe the pictures will jog your memory.

Good luck.

I seem to remember playing a board game called "Dungeon." You chose
one of 4 characters, roll dice to move. If you land on a monster
space you flip a card and battle that monster using dice (your stats
plus roll vs it's stats plus roll). Pretty simple yet fun.

There are actually a whole bunch of these:

Dungeon by TSR. Probably not available any more except via auction.
Talisman (several versions).
Order of the Stick Adventure Game: The Dungeon of Dorukan
Munchkin Quest
Descent: Journeys in the Dark
DragonQuest
Uhh, and some more I am forgetting.

Go to BoardgameGeek.com and look each up.

Great selection. I would only add Runebound

Wow! So many choices in BoardgameGeek.com!!!
I thought "Dungeonquest" was surely the game I played, but when I
started browsing the website the other games were very similar too.
I will take a look at all these games and figure out which one I'll
buy.
There is also a store in Boston called www.thecompleatstrategist.com
that has some of these games.
I'll probably go check them out this weekend.
Thanks guys!

That is a GREAT store; I visited it once when I was at a conference in
Boston. Ask the guys who work there and they may have more
recommendations, too.
