Matrix games has 2 Harpoon games for sale. Which is better. Which has
the potential of finding most opponents?
If your primary interest is with the multi-player function, your only
choice is ANW. HCE is only for solitaire play.
I have both and play them both, equally. Please elaborate on what you
are looking for if you wish to compare the versions.
i.e. Big scenarios with hundreds of units?

Thanks for the response. I was leaning ANW. I believe that I read
somewhere that many players have created scenarios for ANW which means
great reply value. Also there is the possibility of players others
over the Net with ANW.
Basically, I was looking for a reason why HCE might be better. I
thought that someone might say that HCE is ANW only better. Apparently
not.
There are hundreds of user-created scenarios for both versions. In
fact, the Harpoon Classic line of games has over a 1,000 third-party
scenarios. The Harpoon3 and ANW version has hundreds, as well.

There is no Harpoon Commander's Edition demo, yet. Demos of older

They won't show exactly the same thing as HCE, but they will give
users an honest feel for the game.
Both games are similar, yet different in implementation of naval
warfare simulation. Kind of like American Football and Canadian
Football, Squash and Racquetball, ...
