F4 problems getting it going with the new realism patch

Ok here is my problem:

I did the suggested removal of old files and reinstall of falcon4 from the
disk. Unpatched it works just fine, but as soon as I patch it to 1.08US it
fails to load. I get an invalid page fault error as it tries to load the
user interface. Likewise once the ibeta realism patch 2 is loaded

My system:

Windows 98 (with all current patches)
DirectX 7.0a
Pentium III 600E
Voodoo 3 2000 (latest windows certified drivers)
Monster MX300 (not sure what drivers here)
128 MB RAM

I'm wondering if this is a directX7.0a issue which requires a complete
reinstall of Windows 98 or if its just a driver issue? Falcon4 had been
working just fine before the reinstall.

Try reinstalling DX -or- your vid drivers and then DX. Dont know for sure,
but I personally needed to redo DX after the reinstall of F4 for the R2
patch.
