Falcon Pilots,
Just a quick update to allay any concerns about the delayed release of the
Balkan 'Powderkeg' Theater. The delay is related to two specific items that
we are working on. First and foremost is our desire to be fully compatible
with RP5. As everyone should have noticed, RP5 has not been released. The
Realism Patch Group has identified a possible method to repair the insanity
that has infected the ATO since day one in Falcon. These ATO repairs, if
possible, could have a great effect on the Balkan Theater. Second, and
perhaps even more important, the F4Terrain team has decoded the operation of
Falcon's dynamic campaign engine. This presents us with the opportunity to
supply a functional dynamic campaign (or two) with this v1.0 release of the
theater.

Presently we have complied with the request to cease development of any new
portions of the theater that would require source code modifications. The
F4Terrain group has never been involved in sc modifications but has
certainly welcomed the enhancements that they have brought, both to the
1.08i2 executable and eFalcon. The coming eFalcon release will make use of
an enhanced tile pallet and LOD.

That would be absolutely brilliant... hope the team can pull it off.

ATO = Air Tasking Order.
I'm sure many others will soon provide you with a detailed explanation, so
I'll leave it at this.

Great news Froglips and keep up the great work. I don't know about anyone
else, but you certianly have my support to go it slow. I certainly will be
patient enough to wait for the updates to be done right... there's nothing I
hate more than downloading patches more than once and re-installing falcon
again and again <g>. So take your time boys and get it right !!!

cheers

Air Tasking Order. An integrated plan for a 24-72 hour period for theather
air combat. Lists takeoff times, targets, weapons etc, etc. It is then
divided into fragments known as frags which tell individual aircraft and
flights their parts in that days missions..
