If you got any questions concerning the patch:
Read the Readmes and/or the PDFs, they probably answer most of your
questions.
If the links/sites seem/are down (some already are!):
Use the torrent.
The answer to one question that comes up quite often:
The patch is supposed to be installed on top of 4.08m.
One member of Team Daidalos posted it should also work if installed
over 4.09beta.
But if it doesn't work for you, better try with a clean reinstall (no
mods, no beta).
Enjoy!

Big woop, more planes I've never heard of. Wish they'd spend all thier time
working on a decent campaign system that actually uses all the planes in the
set............oh well

Not played the Finnish Fighter career then? The Fokker D.XXI was one
of the major types of their airforce in the 'Continuation War' and,
prior to the new patch, wasn't in the game at all - even as AI-only.

Do you mean you wanted more flyables? I assume that you know that not
all planes were used in all theatres (speaking of which, what's the
story behind some of the Yaks having Japanese skins in 4.08m?).
I'm going to download the patch as soon as I have the time to go down
the library. 550-ish meg is huge even by today's standards!

I know that well, which is what I'm moaning about. How about an RAF or
USAAF campaign in Western Europe? The planes are there, plenty of Spits,
Tempests, Mossies, P47s and 51s and more. The maps are there so why cant
they spend abit of time including even the basic campaign engine? It cant
be that hard for a programmer to do.
And imagine an IL2 campaign even something like that in F4

That's what their next new game is (can't remember the name ATM), so
they'd probably be wanting to keep all of that back for it. From the
looks of the 4.09m ReadMe, all of the new stuff is relevant to the
existing campaigns.
Interesting that there's quite a few Italian types (shame the Reggiane
Re 2000 isn't flyable) and I'll probably play about with the
ski-fitted Polikarpov I-16s when I get bored with smashing my Yak-1B
into a million bits on landing in my Normandie-Niemen save.

They often show up in the Russian campaigns as AI, either as
Soviet-piloted Lend-Lease jobs or in the Berlin endgame piloted by
Americans or British - you'll hear the radio chatter and, if you've
enabled external views in your difficulty settings, you can watch
them.
On 4.08m, I've encountered Russian P47s in my Finnish career, and am
fairly sure I've seen American P51s on my Russian Leningrad Fighter
career on the Berlin map.
I haven't looked at all of the campaigns in 4.08m, so can't really
comment on exactly where or if all of them show up in them as actually
flyable.

At some point they need to be paid, and the way to do that is bring
out a new game...

I really should get round to installing and playing F4AF. TBH, I'm a
little afraid of it and am spending a lot of time on '46.
The only thing that would get me flying IL2 is for the attrocious
ground object popup to be fixed. It just spoils all A2G (my favourite
mission type) for me to not be able to see a huge target like a bridge
before I'm on top of it.

Personally I would settle for a decent WWI sim.
One that does not require you to be wired into
a server to play it, for starters.........
> Like Over Flanders Field: Between Heaven and Hell?
Never heard of it.
But I will look around. I was about to buy
Rise of Flight until I saw the "must be online
to play" requirement even for stand-alone missions.
Bizarre.
You need a copy of MS Combat Flight Sim 3 (i'll ship you a new DVD for
$10 total as I have spares) and the game. It's ok online, but the
campaign is done quite well with a very good immersion factor..

Take a look.

Not holding my breath for the release anytime soon though..

Why would you have spares of a game that was panned by the community?
GR
There's a massive mod for CFS3 called ETO that makes it worth playing.
Another one called MAW that people say is good but I have never tried
that one.
"Netwings Service Announcement
We regret to announce that due to a complex and unusual
set of circumstances we are currently off line."
Not encouraging.
