Anybody played Darkness Within 2?

I played Darkness 1. It's a horror/mystery adventure game. I liked it ok and
was considering getting Darkness 2 the sequel, but checked the demo and a
few reviews and some say Darkness 2 is very dark, meaning a lot of very dim
lighting in a lot of the game, like the main character has to carry lanterns
sometimes to explore underground places. It was dark at times in the first
game and I had to brighten up my monitor as much as I could but it was ok.
Part of it was in houses with nice graphics and not dark and the acting was
quite good and story ok. It was quite creepy at times. It was point and
click most of the time. But it sounds like Darkness 2 is even more dark
scenes and they are using 3D which I don't like as much as point and click
which I find much easier to navigate. Has anybody here played any of the
Darkness within games? and what was your opinion?

Might not appeal to you, but one digital retailer has just started a
'free-to-play' service, and DW2 is shown as one of the games:
http://www.gamersgate.com/void You have to watch an ad first, then it lets
you play. The *idea* sounds fine to me, not having tried it. If you're
open to a little experimentation, it could be a good way to sample gameplay
before buying. This offer just happened to be in the email box today, I'm
sure other retailers offer something similar.
