As I recall, that'll narrow it down to 4 choices. I don't know how, but
of the 4, somehow my girlfriend guessed it on the first try.

I don't know where you got the 32-AA from but it's not right. You get
the number by looking at the TV screen as it cycles through a series of
cameras. Note the numbers xx-yy for the camera where you see Jack
waving. Ignore the -yy, it's the just the xx part you want.
For the letters you could just guess (there's only four combinations)
but if you think about how the scroll arrived and the layout of the air
ducts you can see Jack must be in a room above yours. I discovered that
if you select the correct combination for your own room (don't need to
press the button) you will get a green light instead of a red one
(presumably this indicates the door is already open). You could use
this to double-check before trying to open Jack's room.
