Seems like this game is to be released soon in Europe, any info on it
anywhere? I'm starved for a good adventure game... Any ideas on when it'll
be out in the North America?

He meant the UK version which is due out the 20th of this month.
As for a release here in America. Cross your fingers, but chances are you
might have to order oversees.

If the English version of Longest Journey gets released in
UK, the on-line stores in US like, http://www.cdaccess.com
or http://www.interactcd.com 'd definitely carry it as
British import.

In fact, you can send an email to both these places about
whether or not they 'll be getting the import copies.

Well it has been released over here in Europe (I will get it next
weekend the demo was really impressive).
As usual the developers couldn't find a publisher who was taking the
minimal risk to release an already finished adventure to the US
market. I guess the situation currently is really weird. Companies
sink shitloads of money into the next pointless shooter which they
will never see again (Daikatana) and yet there is a fine game which is
already done and just needs to be published to the US market and
nobody wants to do it. Guess the license is so cheap (cause nobody
picks it up) that even selling only 15000 copies of it would make the
publisher money.

It's actually much worse than that.

Hasbro has a lawsuit against companies making clone
games of tetris and space invaders. As if any gamer gives
a stuff about the millions of versions of these games anyway.
And they are also investing their money in really serious gaming
such as Pokemon titles!

Did you download the English demo? If you did, maybe you can help me. I
downloaded it, but when I tried to install it, I got an error message saying
that it was not a valid Win32 application. I'm running Win 98, thanks!

Something like this happened to me. When I checked the downloaded
file's properties I found that it had a weird extension instead of
exe, com, etc. I went into DOS and renamed the file so it had an exe
extension and then it worked.
