I am trying to downsize these days, so I have a rather large collection of
adventure games that I no longer wish to store in my basement.

Is there any collector here that might be interested in purchasing them?
Shipping would be the largest cost, since there are seven banker's boxes
full of games. Most of them with original boxes.

I'll put together a list if anyone expresses interest.

If no one wants them, they will most likely end up in the trash.

You're not giving up on adventure games are you Murray?. I have a lot of
games I've kept myself and thought about getting rid of some. I only want to
keep games that I sometimes re-play. There could be people here on adventure
newgroup who could be interested in your games. Why don't you put together a
list and your asking price so people can contact you.?

I'd like to see the list. Although my collection probably overlaps the
heck out of it. :)

Gee whiz, Murray . . . this newsgroup needs something to spark
interest. Go ahead and post your list along with your contact
information. Oh, and do it while there is still an O/S that will play
those wonderful old games.

I find the lack of any adventure games worth the purchase to be
depressing. If it isn't arcade or shooter, it's hidden object. How I
do miss classic adventures. :(

By all means, present the list, at present, as a present? A present
for the list, a list for the present! ;)

Mind you, re: postage, I'm about as far away from Canada as you can
get, so probably not economic. Plus I just bought a stack of games
that I'll probably never get around to playing, also not economic.

PS: Merry Christmas, y'all!

I'd love to see the list.

Presumably shaw.ca means you're in Canada; whereabouts? If by some
miracle you're within driving distance of Kingston and in some place
interesting to visit I might be able to pick things up instead of paying
for shipping.

Calgary, so that's a fair drive from Kingston :)

Not quitting adventures, just downsizing our belongings. We are playing
Ankh3 right now and enjoying it quite a bit.

I am keeping my old OS disks -- I plan on setting up some VM's if at all
possible.

OK -- I'll put together a list, but it's going to take me a while. I
expect most of the games are of little interest to anyone, but I do have
some rare ones (Byzantine comes to mind).

I have Return to Zork, but that was one that we kept for replay. After one
more play, it will probably be available.

Isn't Sanitarium one of your top 10 favorite games?

You might regret the decision to give it away someday.

Perhaps, but I have collected too much "stuff" in my life. Besides,
neither my wife nor myself will forget that game; it leaves an indelible
impression :)

Merry Christmas and happy gaming in the new year!

But I think you meant to get rid of them as a lot, not mail them off
one by one, heh. If you don't get a taker here for the lot, it would
be great if you'd use eBay or something -- that way the games would
stay in circulation rather than being trashed.

Likewise, I'd be interested in Wanted: A Wild Western Adventure, and
perhaps The Last Express. But looking on eBay, Wanted is going for
just $3, while Last Express is upwards of $20 (in US currency) - one
guy wants $54 for it (!) - too much for me.

I would not mind Scratches either, but is that the improved "Directors
Cut" of Scratches?

So it depends on how much Murray wants to let them go for - he could
probably put the lot on eBay and make hundreds. :)

(Argh, my free usenet server is going the way of the dinosaurs. Had to
use Google Groups to even see the list)

I don't think there's a better free usenet server than
http://www.eternal-september.org/

But if that's what you were using I'm not sure what you meant by that
comment.
