The COOLEST thing i've seen was the first time i shot the
grenade type lancher. I shot this guy about twenty, no ten, feet
away and it totally blew him sideways about ten feet. to cool.
one warning : careful when re-mapping the mouse keys if you are
using a two button mouse. it total screwed things up for me.
good thing i had a driver for the 3 button mode so i could
set it back.

Thanks. Saved me the pain and trouble of trying it for myself. :^)
>If you have any highlights, POST EM!
This was a simple thing, but I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it.
On the very first level, I shot a guy at the top of a straight staircase
and got to watch his body tumble all the way down the stairs to the
bottom! His shotgun remained at the top where he'd dropped it.
Unbelievable attention to detail.

Now if only someone would edit the monsters to look like the dudes from Alien,
or Hellraiser, THEN we'd have some serios fun.
BTW: if you have AMI bios and can't get DOOM to work, try disabling the Hidden
Refresh in your BIOS setup.

Nope. I already tried that along with every other suggestion on the board for
the last two days.
I want to use that chainsaw!!!
Rick
I had the opportunity to play over a network with some of my good
friends. Fun stuff.
Coolest stuff I've seen (best in any computer game to date)
Rocket launcher, opening fight, level 4. Open door, turn left
and let one fly. 6 flaming corpses (the sound for the 'burning'
bad guys is absolutely disgusting *love it*)
Multiple rocket attacks into the high windows on level 5 (I think)
and watching it from the side (my friends were doing it).
Blowing mother f*ckers _backwards_ up a flight of stairs about
20 ft. Absolutely bad ass.
Me and my buddies opened a door and we all cut loose on 1 of
those pink guys with chainguns and shotguns. Totolally pulverized
the bastard. It's hilarious to see about 20 'blood slpots' cover
1 demon.
Shot a toxic canister next to a possessed sergeant once. Funniest
thing I ever saw... His exploding corpse flew sideways about
60 ft (no kidding)
Popping a canister in a high up window and watching a bad guys
corpse do a fly out, and freefall down to us.
My friend and I were moving down a flight of long stairs when
we encountered a possessed human coming up. We both shot
him with guages and then watched his corpse _slide_ all the
way down the stairs. ID I love you.
I could talk all night......
later,
Scott

I was psyching myself down about DOOM so that I wouldn't be disappointed but I
realize now that that was not necessary.

I have the same setup as above with my sbpro connected to a bose acoustimass

Single Player:
Chainsawing anyone and everyone. It was kool, till I hit the barrel!!!!
Multiplayer:
We were playing in a lab with no sound. (unfortunately). My friend and
I were on level 1 and we were standing across the courtyard shooting
chainguns at each other. I was getting peppered, so I hit 5 then Ctrl. He
said all he saw was a small red dot then a big red burst as the missle
impacted. Then he watched as I stepped on his face!
We were playing 3 player (again with no sound) and I found the other two
shooting it out about 3 feet apart. Again, I activated my rocket launcher
and took them both out with one shot!!!! A barrel exploded and blew one of
the back 20 ft!!!!
ID - Good job...Can't wait 'till you ship the other levels.....

Yeah, love that. How about getting the stealh guys with the Chainsaw (or
anybody). It's so much fun! I love the sound it makes when your sticking
the chainsaw in one of the demons!
Doom is the best game ever!

I was playing a friend of mine in DeathMatch mode. On level on I picked up the
Rocket Gun and the ChainGun, and then made a b-line for the EXIT. Once inside the Exit chamber, I switched to Rocket Gun and pointed myself at the closed door (making sure I was far enougf back). After a minute or so, I started taunting
him ("There coming to get you, Barbra!") so he heads for the exit. As soon as
he opened the door, BANG! One shot and he falls in a pool of his own blood.
I let about 10 seconds go by (to let him re-incarnate himself) and then pulled
the EXIT switch. I started the second level with a pistal, shotgun, Chain Gun
and Rocket Gun, 102% helth, 199% armor - all he had was prayr.
Gotta love it.
D.E.S.
I opened the door and Blam! this guy's guts were flyin' at me...too cool. I love
that shotgun with the reload sound effects.

> Single Player:

During my first multiplayer (2 players) game, I was wandering through the
maze on level 2 (the one with the flashing lights), thinking my opponent was
miles away and looking for something to try my new chainsaw out on... I came
around a corner, straight into the other guy (who had a chain gun), ran
straight at him and took him apart...

I saw someone today firing a rocket at an imp, behind a door, the door closed
just as the rocket was fired - blew the guy 20 feet!

My machine has a SBPro on it, and I could hear the other guy's shooting
in the game. I called him up on the phone, and we kicked the phones to
'speaker' (and left them on the entire time we were playing). That has an
interesting effect as well... the haziness of the speaker phones made it
sound like we were talking through communicators.
Also, it was at night, so the entire effect was totally inspiring.
I love it. There are some bugs - among which is the game-save - but who
wants to do that in multi-player? :>
Unfortunately, there are some concerns floating around about what DOOM does
with network traffic (and I work for the same dept.)...
Oh well.. it's definately an awsome game (make it network-friendly!)
- nice job id.
