Already played the first 11 levels as it was available to anyone with a
Nvidia card for some time, also a special edition of Peggle is available to
Nvidia users. It was a fun diversion but didn't like it enough to buy the
full game. Once I finished the 11 levels I deleted it from my HDD. Peggle
is a fun diversion too and is where I think Valve got their idea for
Portals from as it has portals in some levels too.

Valve didn't invent Portals, they hired the team that wrote Narbacular
Drop. The first use of Portals in a FPS I saw was Unreal. Portals like
Peggle's go back years.

Unreal had transportation devices but no portals as I recall.
Was Prey the first use of them?
Whats funny is that I remember reading about Prey's portals in a game
magazine during the *first* development of Prey. Many might not know
that the game was desinged in the 90's, then shelved for a long time.
The interview I read was with a guy named Paul Schuytema. Doing a
google search on his name will bring a lot of info.
The portal use in the version of Prey that finally came out really
blew me away, that part where you warp onto that tiny planet, and see
the baddies come into the full sized room, then warp in with you to
fight. Really cool moment.
Portal pretty much put me to sleep. Glad to hear I'm not the only one.
Seemed like all the comments I heard about it were good until
recently.

If you have a particular type of sense of humour and like those kind of
puzzles then Portal hits all the right spots. It certainly did for me.

I liked the demo so much I bought the game !
A while back, but still...
slight spoilers below.............................
in fact I was a bit dissapointed that i came upon that nice little
ending during the credits and saw the final battle which featured that
kind of endearing trash talking computer. it looks like it was a cute
little game and yet i viewed the videos on youtube simply out of
boredom thinking I was goignt o see some multiplayer battles. I still
want to buy it though
Only one adequate description for Portal - GENRE TRANSCENDING!
Portal? OK played the first 5 levels but then ... eh... lost interest
>Portal? OK played the first 5 levels but then ... eh... lost interest
The first few levels are training levels, the puzzles haven't got
remotely taxing by level 5.
I played the demo, nothing too taxing on the little grey cells but
curiously, felt very lonely in its drab environment :-(

Hint: Time to find a new hobby meatnub!
There was a portal in one of the multiplayer maps, similar to the one in
the first Q3 map.
